Ziad Hage

Ziad Hage leads Alem & Associate’s Real Estate and Construction Law Practice Group. He is also involved in Arbitration & ADR legal matters, as well as construction related litigations.

Ziad has advised and counseled several owners, developers, international investors, in the construction, development, ownership, operation and leasing of real estate assets and has also advised and represented several clients in connection with international and domestic construction related arbitrations and litigations matters, as well as various ADR schemes including Mediation and Adjudication and dispute resolution boards.

As part of his continuous efforts for the development of ADR mechanisms in the construction field, Ziad became involved with the Centre de Mediation et d’Arbitrage de Paris (CMAP) -  CCIP (Paris) in the elaboration of a new set of ADR schemes (specially Adjudication, Simultaneous Mediation and Arbitration, expertise determination, Early Neutral Evaluation).

Ziad Hage also acts as CMAP’s agent in the Middle East and the GCC.

Ziad is the author of “Adjudication and ADR in the construction industry” as well as the “Country Handbook for Lebanon” (Chapter on Lebanon as part as the International Contract Manual).

Ziad is a member of the Beirut Bar as well as the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

He holds a LL.B from the Saint Joseph University, a LL.M in Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution from the Lebanese University, and a PHD (in process) from the University of Paris II (Pantheon – Assas).
