International Legal Development
Building on Alem & Associates’ longstanding support to legal and policy reform, human rights and transparency initiatives, the firm recently formed the International Legal Development Group (ILDG). For more than a decade, Alem & Associates has worked with government ministries, international organizations and international non-government organizations on projects encompassing a broad range of legislative and public administration reforms in Lebanon and the region.

The ILDG offers short term consultancy on selected issues pertaining to laws, legal systems and institutions as well as the capacity to design, manage and deliver rule of law and justice programs. Alem & Associates is positioned to engage directly with governments and donor agencies or in partnership with other corporations and non-government organizations.

The ILDG combines native proficiency in Arab region laws and legal practice, including Sharia law, with international rule of law program management experience. Alem & Associates’ locally-sourced contribution to enhancing efforts to promote the rule of law in the region brings a unique understanding to the reform and development needs of MENA countries and a commitment to providing strategic support in the region.
